OUR SOCIAL CHARTER
Family Care Medical Services (FCMS) is an AGPAL accredited medical deputising service whose prime role is to provide after hours primary medical care to the patients of subscribing general practitioners during the entire defined after hours period.
FCMS ensures the best possible medical care of patients through the management of quality assured business systems and the recruitment of medical practitioners who meet all the standards of the Queensland Medical Board.
Family Care Medical Services recognises that the patients of subscribing GPs require compassionate and equitable access to domiciliary home visits and/or clinic consultations. In this regard, where patients are pensioners, health care card holders, children under 16 years of age, Veterans Affairs gold card holders or who are unable to afford appropriate domiciliary after hours medical care, these patients will generally be bulk billed.
FCMS ensures that the standards of medical care under which the patients of subscribing GPs is seen or treated are the same regardless the method or quantum of payment.
Patients seen by Family Care doctors have their medical records kept confidential in accordance with national privacy legislation. Consultation notes are routinely dispatched to the patient's General Practitioner to ensure continuity of care in accordance with AGPAL standards.
